Meet Daryl the Dachshund...

My latest class was making a Dachshund pincushion, very similar to the one seen on the Sewing Bee. I had to move out of my, newly found, comfort zone of sewing in straight lines and tackle curves! It was tricky to match up all the various pieces and I found out that tweed is not the easiest of fabric to work with, but I love the finished result :) I named him Daryl, after my favourite character in The Walking Dead - we only started watching it three weeks ago, so have had a mammoth catch up session of seasons 1 - 5!

  2. Love him, want one please :). Looks like this is another hobby you've taken to so easily. Walking Dead - that is one thing I can't cope with zombies, they freak me out and scare me lol

  3. I still can't believe you're actually sticking pins in him...and his head too... :-(
Daryl is gorgeous and your Dachsund is too.
I love Walking Dead - watched it far too many times and some episodes even more. Love a good Zombie Fest xx

  4. Isn't he just a dashing dachshund! Very cute ... I have not often sewed tweed but remember its tendency to shred itself along the edges and especially on curves. You have done brilliantly!

    1. Hi Sally :) I couldn't get the geese to line up, so I started again. Still couldn't, so third time lucky. I'm too much of a perfectionist! Is yours all finished?

  7. Wow! I missed this post somehow. I love it. Such an adorable dachshund. Better than my tatty pincushion. The tweed is so effective. Px
