Fab colours from Alison, from the Play Date Cafe, this week, but I really struggled in putting them together. The result .... a very bold, in your face card! Everything is from Stampin' Up, apart from the border punch, which is Martha Stewart.

Had a great day at the Warrington Christmas crop today, but only managed to make 3 cards (too much chat LOL!). This card is for the Mojo Monday challenge and I have used a Magnolia stamp, coloured with Copics; Basic Grey 'Wassail" PPs and Martha Stewart and SU punches. The charm is from 'The Hobby House'.

Play Date Cafe - Challenge 7
It was Sandi's turn to pick the colours this week at the Play Date Cafe. She chose lovely seasonal colours, which happened to fit perfectly with an 'easel' Christmas card I have just made.
All the supplies used are from SU, apart from the PP which is from Papermania.

Suzi Blu
Seems like ages since I last posted....... that's because it is LOL! I've been doing Suzi Blu's Petite Dolls class and it has taken weeks of drawing and layering background stuff to get this far. Just need to coat it with beeswax and then she's finally finished. Quite pleased with my first attempt though:) I've also just started her Goddess and Poet class, which is more about realistic faces and art journalling. I've never drawn a 'portrait' style face before, so again, I'm quite pleased with my first atttempt.

Sketch Saturday - 65
I haven't done a card challenge for a while, but inspired by my friend Paul, I have decided to start using up some of my paper/card scraps. The sketch was from Sketch Saturday and I have used October afternoon PPs, Bazzill, a Petaloo flower, Martha Stewart border punch and SU sentiment and oval punches. The image is from Sugar Nellie and it has been coloured with Copics.

SLYMI - Week 34
Fab sketch challenge this week. I have used Basic Grey 'Porcelain' papers and embellishments and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. The journalling reads: Natalie and Lauren wanted to take me out to celebrate my 44th birthday, but unfortunately Lauren was ill and couldn't come. I kept teasing Natalie about the huge handbag she had brought with her and joked that she looked like she was going away for a week, rather than out for a meal! All became clear at the end of the meal, when the waitress appeared singing Happy Birthday, whilst carrying a lovely chocolate cake, which Natalie had hidden in her bag. It was a lovely surprise made even more special by the fact that it had been Natalie's idea - Cinn Oriental 26 June 2009.

Art From the Heart Workshop
I did a workshop at Art From the Heart today, in which Dyan showed us some ways to use the Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints. I might finally pluck up the courage to take the seal off mine now LOL! This tag was my favourite 'make' from today. We used the paints to make the background, added some Tim Holtz stamps and then used Blonde Moment stamps for the outfit and some grungboard for the wings and hat. (The cute face belongs to Lauren)

Sunday's Creations
I managed to complete two LOs and a card at the Warrington Crop on Sunday. I usually spend most of the time chatting, shopping or paper shuffling - so I am feeling quite proud of myself! The 'Monkey Swing' LO was designed by Lianne - I only added a title and changed the number of photos, so can't take any credit for the design. The 'Bloom' LO was inspired by one on the Crafty Stash Blog - I used the same papers and row of buttons, but changed the design of the LO. The card was made using SU papers, scallop punch and sentiment stamp, a Magnolia stamp which was coloured using Copics and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

SLYMI - Week 32
We had to use white journalling for this week's challenge. I have used Prima 'Signs of Spring' paper, Bazzill cardstock, Thickers alphabet and my PC for the journalling. The journalling reads: Dad has completed the John O'Groats to Lands End journey several times over the years. He has walked it, run it, and ridden it on his racing bike, so this year he decided that he need a different challenge.... He came up with the idea of attempting the journey on a postman's bike. The lack of gears and the extra weight would give him the extra challenge that he needed. He set off on July 5th and finished 14 days later on July 19th 2009. He has raised thousands of pounds for charity and even managed to deliver a few parcels along the way - not bad for a 68 year old!

Mojo Monday 98
Another lovely sketch from Mojo Monday this week. I have used SU papers, card, ink and ribbon and Hero Arts 'Flower Wood Background' stamp and an Inkadinkado sentiment stamp. The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart.
Just Because
Got an extra day off work this week, so thought I'd make a card for a friend's birthday. It's not for any of the challenges, just fancied making a nice straightforward card. I have used SU card, PP and ink, Hero Arts stamps, a Fiskars punch and a bit of bling for good measure!
Hubby has been in San Francisco for the past week and is due home in a couple of hours. He's so good to me - on his only day off, he got a taxi to the nearest Michaels and then rang me to see what I would like. He walked up and down the aisles trying to describe the various stamp sets to me - I'm really looking forward to seeing what he picked. He's also got me the special edition of Breaking Dawn from the Twilight series - you get a DVD and poster and a few other extra bits. Lauren is already trying to weedle the poster off me LOL!

SLYMI - Week 31
This week's theme is something old, new, borrowed or blue. The kids are wearing blue, their dresses are new and the photo is old - couldn't squeeze in borrowed LOL! I have used Basic Grey 'Lime Rickey' papers, Petaloo flowers, a Hambly rub on and a thickers alphabet which I have stamped to match the colour of the background paper. The journalling reads: Lauren, you look so worried in this photograph, but the way you are leaning in towards Natalie shows that no matter how much you may fight, your big sister will always be there to look after you.

SLYMI - Week 30
Lots of faffing about this week! Been without the internet all week, so lots of running between PCs with a memory stick LOL. This weeks' theme was 'independence'. You could interpret it as you wish - either the colours of Independence Day, or yourself or someone else's independence. I have used red, white and blue (with more than a hint of yellow LOL!). The journalling reads: It was so much easier to let you be independent when you were little. Today these words have a different meaning! I have used Basic Grey 'June Bug' papers, a Hambly rub on, Chatterbox felt border, Papermania bling and, I think, a Making Memories alphabet.

SLYMI - Week 29
The theme for this week was to use 3 of something on the LO. I have used 3 children, 3 photos and 3 scalloped semi circles. The papers are Bo Bunny 'Sweetie Pie Squeeze', the butterfly is from Scrap FX and the alphabet is from Thickers. I love these photos, the children were totally unaware that I was watching them and then when they turned around they looked so guilty!

Friday Sketchers - Week 59
Great sketch from Friday Sketchers. I have used Woodware 'Skateboard Dude' stamp, coloured with Copics and WeR Memory Keepers 'White Out' papers. The sentiment stamp is from Fiskars (I think?).
On a Roll Today!
Wow - three posts in one day, don't know what's come over me! This LO was done using a kit from Crafty Stash, so I can't take any credit for the design. The only flash of inspiration I had, was when I realised I needed bubble wrap to stamp with and didn't have any, so I used a flower centre stamp instead! The papers are Webster's pages 'Your Life is Beautiful' and the stamp is from Technique Tuesday.
Mojo Monday - Week 94
Well, excuse the pun, but I think I've finally got my card mojo back! Thanks Paul, for the link to this great challenge blog - Mojo Monday. I have used Adirondack inks to create the background, which has then been stamped using Hero Arts 'Poinsettia and Birds' background stamp. I have also used a couple of small pieces of Daisy Bucket 'In the Meadow' paper, some Basic Grey bling, a Hero Arts sentiment stamp and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

SLYMI - Week 26
Don't seem to be getting time to make any cards at the moment, it takes me too long to do the SLYMI challenge. This week's required element was to use some stickers on your LO. The photo is yet another one from my India trip LOL! I have used Heidi Swapp Invisibles, bird and frame mega mask, which I have painted using Ranger Dabbers. The title was created with Thickers alphabet stickers and Adornit stickers. The bling around the pigeon is also Heidi Swapp and the stamps are from Inkadinkadoo, decorated with kaisercraft bling.

Just Magnolia - Week 6
The challenge over at Just Magnolia, this week, was to use a shaped card. I have cut this scalloped circle card on the Cricut and also used it to cut the circular mats. Tilda has been coloured using Promarkers, the PPs are K&Co 'Roam' and the sentiment stamp and punches are from Stampin' Up. I have also used a Martha Stewart border punch and EK Success retro flower punches.

I haven't made a card for a while, but couldn't resist this lovely sketch from Friday Sketchers. I have used Basic Grey 'Urban Prairie' papers, a Sugar Nellie stamp, coloured with Promarkers, SU sentiment and punches and Nestabilities.
Jigsaw Finished!
The original charm I had ordered for my Wizard of Oz piece, was out of stock, so I had to order a different one. The new charm was trimmed in gold as opposed to the original silver one, so guess what... I had to redo my jigsaw piece! I'm going to parcel it up, ready to send, tomorrow, which will hopefully stop me from feeling the urge to redo any of the other pieces LOL.

SLYMI - Week 20
This week's challenge..... to use a pen!! I have doodled around the flowers, and journalled on the strips and also at the side of the photo. I have used K&Co 'Hopscotch' papers for the flowers, which have been stamped using an Elusive Images flower plate. I have added a Thickers title and plenty of bling.
